It was the brainchild of the chairperson, Dr. Farzana to introduce a monitoring and evaluating system through an inspection department, in 2002. Accordingly, the present Inspection department came into being based on the British school inspection systems such as Her Majesty’s Inspectorate and the Scotland Inspection Department. Initial training was provided by members of those inspection departments and presently it is headed by an expert who leads teams of inspectors comprising local and foreign educationists.

Teams of inspectors visit the schools annually and do a careful study of the activities that take place in the branches before making assessments comparing them with international standards. Their main focus is on General school management, Academic management, Resource management, Skill development, School climate and culture, Teaching – learning process and role of the head as a leader. Teaching – learning process is assessed by practically observing the lessons conducted by teachers while they do the job and each teacher is awarded a grade. All information thus collected is recorded and made into a School Inspection Report which is sent to the school with copies to the senior management who initiate follow-up action to correct any inadequacies mentioned in the reports.

The schools are aware of this procedure and keep great faith on the inspection team to generate an unbiased and comprehensive report of the school activities. School inspections help schools to set targets and achieve them before the inspection teams arrive, as they are aware of what the inspection teams would look for. The schools are also provided with a self evaluation system which helps them to understand and interpret the school systems and procedures which they are supposed to implement in their schools.
